Kefir FAQ's.
You questions about our Raw Goats Milk Kefir, answered!
Kefir is a naturally fermented drink full of live active cultures. Traditionally made in the Caucasus Mountains region, kefir has been enjoyed for generations as part of everyday life.
Our kefir is traditionally made using raw goats’ milk and real kefir grains. The grains ferment the milk naturally over time before being removed, leaving a smooth, tangy kefir ready for bottling.
We keep it plain and unflavoured with no added sweeteners or flavourings.
If you’ve never tried kefir before, think of it as somewhere between yoghurt and buttermilk; creamy, slightly tart and very drinkable. Many people find goats’ milk kefir milder and easier to enjoy than they expected. Fermentation gives it depth and a slight sparkle, while the goats’ milk keeps it smooth and clean tasting.
You can drink kefir straight from the bottle or blend it into a smoothie as part of your daily routine.
One of our favourites is kefir with raw goats’ milk, green banana and blueberries for an easy breakfast or morning boost. If you like it a little sweeter, a touch of raw honey works well too.
We generally suggest around 170ml per day as a serving guide. If you’re new to kefir, you may prefer to start with a smaller amount and gradually increase it over time.
Kefir is a fermented food made using live cultures. During fermentation, the cultures naturally interact with the milk, creating the distinctive tangy flavour and texture that kefir is known for.
Many people choose kefir as part of a balanced diet because of its live cultures and traditional fermentation process. Compared with yoghurt, kefir is typically made with a wider variety of cultures and has a thinner, more drinkable texture.
As with any fermented food, individual experiences can vary.
